Egypt demands end to Apple unfair restrictions

(MENAFN) Egypt is accusing Apple Inc. of unjust limitations on local distributors, given that its iPhone prices are at least 50 percent higher than its prices in other Middle Eastern countries.

Apple was slapped by Egypt with a sixty-day deadline to either lift its restrictions or be presented with legal measures.

It comes shortly after iPhone maker Cupertino was claimed by Egypt's Competition Authority of breaching local law in banning sales to Egyptian distributors.

The Egyptian authority also claimed that Apple prohibited parallel imports of its products into the Egyptian market.
