UAE- Khaleej Times hosts third edition of CIO Meet

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Khaleej Times successfully concluded the third edition of the CIO Meet on Sunday at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, in association with technology leaders Nutanix. Attending the event were top CIOs and heads of IT departments from government and semi-government organisations, including Etisalat, flydubai, Dewa, PepsiCo, Takaful Emarat, emCredit, Emirates Leisure Retail, Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City and Fujairah National Construction. The initiative, now in its third edition, was launched by Khaleej Times and MIT Sloan Management Review GCC in 2017.

Aaron White, regional director, Nutanix Middle East, delivered the welcome address.

Speaking about the initiative, Vicky Kapur, executive editor, Khaleej Times, said: "CIO Meet is a concept that stems from the idea of creating a platform where CIOs from government, semi-government and private entities are brought under one roof to exchange meaningful conversations. Khaleej Times has always been at the forefront of supporting such initiatives as we believe technology will continue to play an increasingly crucial part in transforming our future."

The CIO Meet gathered thought leaders for a half-day strategic session where topics related to infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, data centres and impact of technology on legacy issues were discussed at length.

Mike O'Hara, Territory Manager at Nutanix, addressed the unrelenting complexities faced by infotech leaders across their IT environments due to legacy infrastructure and its profound impact on their technology teams.

Fadi Al Hindi, CEO, Takaful Emarat, delivered the keynote address stressing the importance for organisations to take risks when it comes to adopting smart technologies which in return deliver more efficient and best-in-class products and services to customers.

The meet provided a platform for thought leaders to share their opinions and guide other leaders towards problem-solving. Khaleej Times aims to build on this gathering by connecting more industry thought leaders and creating a platform that fosters intellectual interactions.
