Oman- Ministry starts receiving dried dates harvest at its warehouse


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has said that it is receiving Busoor (dried dates) harvest from December 9 to February 2, 2019.

The ministry is receiving the harvest from the farmers at its warehouse in Wadi Kabir, an official said.

'Last year the ministry received three types of Busoor (Al Mabsali, Al Madlooki and Abu Narnja) from 438 suppliers. In 2016, there were 324 suppliers,' the ministry official said. He added, 'The ministry has stated that if a farmer is selling the Busoor products to traders to be exported, he should get an invoice for the sale or a contract between him and the exporter. This will make him eligible for the government subsidy.'

MoCI has called on farmers to pay attention to cleanliness and quality to compete in the local and foreign markets.
