(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) KHAR: Community Schools being run under Fata Education Foundation (FEF) are going to be closed with closure of the foundation in June next year.
The closure of FEF will not only render hundreds of teachers jobless but put future of of thousands of children at lurch who are studying in these schools throughout Bajaur tribal district.
There are 28 community schools in Bajaur where more than 5000 students are enrolled that would run under the supervision of Fata Education Foundation after 2015.
The foundation is going to expire in June 2019 but the government is yet to decide future of teachers teaching in these schools. Teachers of the community schools told TNN that they were neither paid their 16 months salaries nor their services regularized.
There are 235 girls students in Sheenkotai Community Girls Schools while 260 in boys schools who would be lift with no option but to quite education if the schools are closed as there is no government school in the areas.
Elders of the area appealed Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to regularize services of the teachers and take over control of the schools.
Each school enroll around 200 children every year and its closure would deprive hundreds of children of their right to education as well as render hundreds of teachers jobless.
