Rwanda: four Suspected Rwandan rebels die in attack


(MENAFN) The Rwandan military declared that a suspected Rwandan rebel group placed in Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) stormed Rubavu district in western Rwanda on early Monday.

Rwanda's defense and military spokesperson Innocent Munyengango confirmed that Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR) is believed to have conducted the ambush in Rusura cell, Busasamana sector at about 1 a.m. Rwandan time.

He added that four of the assailants have died in clashes with troopers of Rwanda Defense Forces, as one machine gun was found at the site.

No other fatalities were informed about, according to Munyengango.
