Russia to contribute additional $2 million to UN fund for food aid for Syria


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) Russia will make an additional contribution of $2 million to the fund of the UN World Food Program to provide food aid for Syria. The corresponding order of the Russian government was published on Monday on the official web portal of legal information, Trend reports referring to TASS .

"To make an additional one-time target contribution of $2 million from the federal budget to the fund of the UN World Food Program to finance costs linked to the provision of food aid to the Syrian Arab Republic," the order says.

According to the document, these funds should be used for purchasing food in Russia and paying its delivery to Syria by Russian organizations.
