(MENAFN) Millions of commuters in Germany have been affected by nation-wide postpones after rail laborers remained at home in protests over pay halted trains.
Operator Deutsche Bahn (DB) confirmed that Inter-city and regional services, in addition to seveal urban commuter networks, have been affected.
The four-hour protest stopped at 09:00 (08:00 GMT) however, postpones were expected to continue throughout the day.
EVG's Managing Director Torsten Westphal declared: "It is our colleagues who work around the clock, 365 days a year, to ensure passenger and freight traffic in Germany... despite permanent staff shortages and the resulting many overtime."
