(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) DI KHAN: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman on Sunday said that Fata Reforms have been implemented to a great extent and announced that elections for KP Assembly likely to be held in April or May next year.
This he said while addressing participants of the 15th Annual Award Ceremony of Wana Welfare Society at Gomal University.
He said that tribal people will get rid of Fata Secretariat and announced 30,000 recruitments as well as Sehat Sahulat Card for every family poor in South Waziristan and rest of ex-FATA.
He informed that tribal areas have been exempted from taxes for five years while locals would be recruited in police department after the extension of Police force to the region.
Under the constitutional amendment, the government was bound to hold elections in the erstwhile Fata for the KP Assembly within a year. The local government elections will take place there afterward.
He also distributed shields and cash among students for their brilliant performance in education.
