(MENAFN - Pajhwok Afghan News) PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan€™s foreign minister will visit Kabul next week for discussions with top Afghan leaders on political reconciliation and durable peace.
Shah Mamood Qureshi will arrive in Kabul on December 15 -days after USP President Donald Trump sought Pakistan's cooperation on peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Speaking in at an event in his hometown of Multan on Saturday, the minister claimed Trump€™s request to Prime Minister Imran Khan for assistance on the Afghan issue reflected Pakistan€™s proactive foreign policy.
Radio Pakistan quoted him as renewing Pakistan€™s commitment to an inclusive Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process. He linked stability in the neighbouring country to peace in Pakistan.
In Kabul, Qureshi will hold a trilateral meeting with Chinse and Afghan counterparts on exploring avenues of cooperation on peace, counterterrorism and progress of Afghanistan.
On Tuesday, the minister had reaffirmed Pakistan€™s support for the Afghan peace process at a meeting with US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad in Islamabad.
