(MENAFN) Qatar Airways was announced to have commenced on Sunday a new direct service to Mombasa, a Kenyan city.
The first direct flight the Qatari state-owned flag carrier launch arrived in Mombasa with an Airbus A320 aircraft, which presents twelve Business Class seats and 120 seats in Economy Class.
The move is considered as an indication of Qatar's confidence in the Kenyan coast, which was struggling with the number of foreign tourists, stated CEO of Kenya Tourism Board Dr Betty Radier.
The CEO added: "this is good news for the sector and together with the private sector, KTB will look into ways of partnering with Qatar Airways as well as other aircrafts to increase passenger numbers into the route."
