Qatar- FNAC displays of French books at fair

DOHA: FNAC, the leading cultural destination in Qatar, together with the French Embassy in Qatar and the French Institute, is marking a remarkable participation at the 29th Doha International Book Fair where it displayed a large variety of French books and a special section for Qatari authors and organized a range of activities such as workshops, book signings, meet and greets, story-telling sessions, and other interactive activities.

This year, FNAC is set to host notable authors especially invited by Fnac International, France, including Sibylline Desmazières and Jérôme D'Aviau, authors and illustrators of the book ‘Rat et les animaux moches' who interacted with students during their workshops. Alexis Nesme, the author and illustrator of the book ‘Les Enfants du Capitaine Grant' also led workshops for school students. Over the ten days, FNAC booth is expected to attract more than 600 students from different schools in Doha. During the whole period of the book fair, Qatari writers and artists will be visiting the booth throughout the exhibition to present their work. Fnac is supporting local talent through cultural and educational activations and signing ceremonies. All of these activities inspire and enlighten students on the importance of reading books, which helps further hone their talents.

The Doha International Book Fair is considered as the largest international book fair in the region with extensive participation from different countries worldwide. It is a platform to exchange cultural diversity and a space to inspire dialogue and share knowledge.
