Kuwait- 46th FANA Conference discussions focused on development


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 3 (KUNA) -- The General Assembly of FANA ended their 46th Conference on Monday after discussing several issues aiming at developing Arab news agencies with more productive mechanisms.
Secretary-General of FANA Dr. Fareed Ayyar stated to KUNA that the conference discussed many topics on ways of developing the news outlets to perform at a higher level.
The most significant topic covered was the provision of advanced training for the agencies' employees, as individual skills development would certainly serve the agencies as a whole, added Ayyar.
He also pointed to new ideas raised concerning communications and initiating the means of social interaction and newsrooms instead of just focusing on the written press.
The topics were very time-consuming, said Ayyar, but the discussions resulted in positive outcomes as it was agreed that many workshops would be held in 2019.
He also added that FANA holds yearly conferences to make decisions targeting the development of Arab news agencies' work, while expressing much hope for next year's meeting.
Ayyar praised Kuwait's organization of this conference to say, "The staff of KUNA made every effort to ensure the success of the conference." The Director of Oman News Agency (ONA) Dr. Mohammad Al-Oraimi gave his verdict on the conference to KUNA by hailing the effective results that greatly benefit Arab news agencies to move forward and enhance cooperation with international news outlets, valuing the role of the President of the Federation in linking the agencies.
Qatar News Agency (QNA) Director Yousef Al-Maliki also stated his appreciation for Kuwait's efforts in holding the 46th Conference along with his optimism towards the resolutions sealed before the closing of the meeting.
On his part, the Director of Libya's News Agency (LANA) Ibrahim Al-Jabri assured in his statement to KUNA that various publications would be published in the field of culture, politics, and literature, noting at the same time the distinguished meeting between participating delegations and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
KUNA's efforts in hosting this conference were much appreciated by Yemen's News Agency (SABA) Director Abdullah Al-Atwani who stated that the discussions focused on open communication with world news outlets and the importance of their role in portraying the correct image of the event.
