Erdogan: Turkey, Qatar vow to continue friendly ties


(MENAFN) On Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Turkey and Qatar have standby each other's in tough times, and emphasized to be a true friend many times.

Erdogan affirmed during the 4th meeting of Turkey-Qatar High Strategic Committee in Istanbul, "Turkish nation showed intense efforts to break the blockade and sanctions targeting its Qatari brothers".

In June of last year, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain jointly cut relations with Qatar, accusing it of assisting terrorist groups.

The Saudi-led axis also imposed a land, sea and air blockade on Qatar, with Riyadh closing the Abu Samra border crossing connecting the two Gulf countries.
