(MENAFN) Lebanon will be having its cooperation pact with Belgium renewed for an additional three years, as announced Belgian Parliament Speaker Siegfried Bracke.
The National News Agency (NNA) cited the statement of the Belgian speaker, who arrived in Lebanon on Sunday.
The official noted "we have been working together for more than 14 years. My predecessor signed a cooperation agreement between our two countries."
Bracke stressed "today I look forward to extending this agreement and widening its scope for the next three years."
He further voiced the wishes of his country for Lebanon to finally achieve stability, saying that "since Lebanon is a bridge between the European Union, including Belgium, and the Arab world, we look forward to political stability in Lebanon."
