Doha:The 5th session of the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies Forum will be held on December 1, 2018 at the headquarters of the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in Doha.
The two-day forum will tackle the most important issues and challenges faced by Gulf Arab states in two areas: First, the issues of social transformation, including identity, values, development, tribe and language, to the Gulf crisis and its impact on the common Gulf identity.
The second focuses on the Gulf-US relations, including the foundations of the relationship, its foundations, its roots, its security and economic dimensions, the future of US relations in the light of regional and international transformations, and US's transformation into an energy producer.
The Forum will divided into a number of sessions, in which, about forty papers will be presented.
Two public lecture will also be delivered during the Forum, the first of which by a professor at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and former US National Security Council member Gary Sick, entitled 'America: The Hesitant Hegemon.
The second lecture will be held on the second day of the forum, under the title 'The Future of Social Transformations in the GCC Countries, by a group of Gulf researchers.
