(MENAFN) Bahrain declared on Sunday the initial results of its parliamentary and municipal elections which took place on Saturday.
Bahraini justice minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa unveiled the results after 67 percent of citizens casted their ballots.
The first batch of results included the names of eight new elected MPs, with two women among them, as they set to represent the capital, Muharraq, and northern and southern governorates.
The minister further unveiled the names of seven winning municipal representatives, with a female included.
The second batch of counted votes for the rest parliamentary and municipal seats is scheduled to be announced on December 1st.
