Horticultural Expo 2021to be held in Doha
The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) in Paris has officially approved Qatar hosting of the Horticultural Expo 2021 (from March 17 to October 14, 2021).
The formal recognition, approved by member-states of the BIE, was followed by the ceremonial handing of the BIE flag to HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie. The minister said that it is very important to consider Horticultural Expo 2021 in Doha as an incentive to set up more gardens, the development of horticulture and the cultivation of plants, flowers and trees in a harsh climate.

Arab-European YouthForum gets underway
The Arab European Youth Forum for the Alliance of Civilisations, hosted by Doha for the third time, kicked off yesterday evening with participation of 80 young people from 25 Arab and foreign countries and will continue until November 26. The opening ceremony was attended by HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali, and a number of ambassadors of several Arab and foreign countries accredited to Qatar.

Qatar donates $1mnto support Syria IIIM
HE the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the United Nations Office and other international organisations in Geneva ambassador Ali Khalfan al-Mansouri announced that Qatar has donated $1mn to the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism (IIIM) to assist in the investigation and prosecution of persons responsible for the most serious in Syria IIIM to enable it to carry out its mandate to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the most serious crimes committed in Syria since 2011.
