Kuwait adds eight medals to Arab Shooting Championship tally


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Nov 23 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti shooters on Friday added more eight medals to their tally in the 14th Arab Shooting Championship in Doha, which features more than 200 athletes from 10 Arab countries.
Yusuf Al-Mutairi won the gold medal in the trap men competition, his compatriot Bader Al-Adwani won the bronze medal and the Qatari shooter Hussein Bannai seized the silver medal.
The Kuwaiti men team, made up of Yusuf Al-Mutairi, Bader Al-Adwani and Yusuf Al-Rasheedi snatched the gold medal of the trap team competition followed by the Qatari team which won the sliver medal.
In 10m rifle women junior competition, Kuwaiti shooter Yara Al-Khalaf came first and got the gold medal while Qatari shooter Shahad Al-Rowashed and Omani shooter Rowaa Al-Hosni came second and third respectively.
In 10m rifle women team competition, the Kuwaiti team -- of shooters Yara Al-Khalaf, Batool Ashknani and Reem Al-Rasheedi - offered a splendid performance and grabbed the gold medal. In the same competition, Omani team came second and was followed by the Qatari team.
In trap mixed team competition, the Kuwaiti team, of shooters Abdulrahman Al-Faihan, Sara Al-Hawal won the sliver medal, after the Lebanese team which snatched the gold medal and before the Qatari team which won the bronze medal.
Kuwaiti shooter Saud Al-Sebaie won the silver medal of 10m air rifle men junior competition, Omani shooter Fahem Al-Badi won the gold medal and the Qatari shooter Nasser Al-Naimi got the bronze medal.
In 25m standard pistol team competition, the Kuwaiti team - made of shooters Othman Al-Failakawi, Hassan Al-Mulla and Saudi Al-Mutairi, ranked third after the Qatari and Omani teams which came first and second respectively. (end) nnd.ibi
