Iran condemns fresh U.S. sanctions

(MENAFN) Iran expressed its strong rejection to the United States for its latest batch of sanctions slapped against the Islamic Republic.

The U.S. Treasury Department announced the sanctions which were supposedly imposed due to Iran's "terrorism financing".

The department declared sanctions against international network that includes five individuals and four companies in Iran and Russia to prevent oil sales to Syria's al-Assad government.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi stressed that "those who design and apply these futile and ineffective sanctions will never achieve their desired aims."
