Saudi king vows to continue efforts to resolve Yemen, Syria crises

(MENAFN) On Monday, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz reaffirmed support for reaching political solutions to the battles in Yemen and Syria.

In a speech to the Shura Council, a top consultative body, the monarch emphasized the oil-rich kingdom would continue its efforts to find solutions for local crises.

He stated, "Our stand with Yemen was not an option but a duty to support the Yemeni people against the Iran-backed putschist militias".

Yemen has continued wracked by violence since 2014, when Shia Houthi insurgents attacked most of the country, plus capital Sanaa.
