(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatargas has extended support to Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) programmes aimed to raise awareness of cancer prevention methods and emphasise the importance of early detection.
The initiative comes within the framework of the organisation's programme to promote awareness of public health issues,
especially cancer.
Mariam Hamad al-Noaimi , general manager of QCS, thanked the company for the gesture and said, 'The donation is part of Qatargas's commitment to its responsibilities towards the community, especially raising awareness
about cancer.
She wished that all institutions join hands to spread awareness of the disease, as well as provide support both material and moral — for people living with the disease.
She expressed gratitude to Qatargas for its gesture, saying, 'We hope that more partnerships with all state institutions will contribute to the deployment of community awareness of cancer and ways to
prevent it.
The official stressed that addressing cancer needed concerted efforts and constant co-operation between all institutions and agencies in the country and that QCS cannot operate in isolation, pointing to the importance of community partnerships in fighting cancer.
