Kuwaiti wins gold in 14th Arab Shooting Championship


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait's Hamad Al-Namshan won the gold medal in the men's 50m pistol category in the 14th Arab Shooting Championship in Doha, Qatar, while the Omani Ismail Al-Abri second and Jamal Al-Hattali third.

President of the Arab Shooting Federation Engr Duaij Al-Otaibi and Head of the Omani delegation Rashed Al-Balushi awarded the winners of the competition at Lusail International Shooting Complex on Sunday.

Al-Otaibi, also head of Kuwaiti Shooting Club, expressed to KUNA his pride with the new achievement by Al-Namshan, which shows the progress achieved by the Kuwaiti shooter at the regional and International levels.

Al-Otaibi thanked the Public Authority for Sports for meeting needs of Kuwait Shooters. He highly appreciated the political leadership in the country by taking care of these kinds of sports to achieve regional and global achievements.

He revealed that an international academy for shooting sport will be established in Kuwait in 2020 to contribute to the development of the shooting sport in the region. (KUNA)
