Transfer of power to local levels set for Wednesday


(MENAFN- EIN) Benguela, ANGOLA, November 18 - The political and administrative powers until then under the provincial governments will move to the country's 64 municipalities. ,

This was announced Saturday by deputy governor for Political, Economic and Social sphere of Benguela province, Deolinda Valiangula.

Deolinda Valiangula announced this at a press conference on the decentralisation process in Angola held in coastal Benguela province.

The ceremony was attended by counterparts of Malanje and Luanda, Domingos Eduardo and Ana Paula Correia Victor respectively.

The official said the ceremony will be preceded by the transfer of competencies of three ministries failed to complete the process on 29 October.

They are sector of Transport, Territorial Planning and Public Works.

The official recalled that the transfer process will help reverse the centralised administration situation the country has experienced since it became independent in 1975.
