ISESCO Calls for Launching Awareness Campaigns in Islamic World to Raise Awareness of Serious Effects of Various Forms of Violence on Children

Rabat, Rabi'I 09, 1440, November 17, 2018, SPA -- The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) called on for launching guidance campaigns in the Islamic world to raise awareness of the serious effects of various forms of violence on children.
In a statement issued today on the occasion of International Children's Day, ISESCO stressed that the celebration of the year comes under difficult conditions experienced by some Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), with which the peoples of these countries have become among the world's most suffering people, where the absence of security and stability is on the rise. Palestinian children who suffer the most from the violation of their legitimate rights by the Israeli occupation authorities, and the suffering of children in areas of armed conflict such as Yemen due to the practices of the Iranian-backed Houthi militias, Somalia, Afghanistan and the Rohingya children of Myanmar as a result of the atrocities committed against them.
Despite the efforts made by all Member States to protect children, there are a number of challenges and constraints faced by children in the world, including the dangers they face and the crimes committed against them through the Internet.
