(MENAFN) Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) was announced to have sent international aid to displaced individuals in the eastern Ethiopian city of Jijiga.
The displaced people received 80,000 blankets from the Turkish state-run agency on Friday, with the attendance of Turkey's Ambassador to Ethiopia Fatih Ulusoy.
The distribution was also joined by TIKA country coordinator Fazil Akin as well as Vice President of Somali Regional State Adem Farha.
"We need Turkish investors," stressed the Somali regional state's vice president, highlighting the recovery seen in the region.
"We will continue to support the needy people and the region. The blankets were produced by Turkish textile company ETUR Textile PLC, which is based in Adama city of Ethiopia," the coordinator of TIKA also added.
