EU to support Iraq deal with consequences of U.S sanctions on Iran


(MENAFN) On Friday, the EU the foreign policy chief emphasized that the European Union will backing Iraq on consequences of U.S. sanctions on Iran.

Frederica Mogherini told Iraq's Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi during a phone call that the EU would assistance Baghdad "to deal with the consequences" of U.S.
sanctions on Iran, according to a statement by Iraq's prime minister's office.

The statement added, uttering the EU supports Abdul-Mahdi and his government, Mogherini stated the EU is prepared to backing Iraq in politics, economics and security.

The U.S. has released Iraq a 45-day relinquishment from U.S. sanctions on Iran for natural gas and electricity imports, the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad proclaimed November 9.
