Kuwait airport taxiways reopen after brief halt

(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT, Nov 16 (KUNA) — All taxiways, leading to aircraft runways, have been reopened at
Kuwait International Airport after heavy rains and unstable weather led to their closure for a less
than 12-hour period.

The emergency plan put in place by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has been
significantly effective in enabling the resumption of air navigation, the authority said in a
statement.

The measures, taken as a precaution in order to ensure aircraft safety, were taken due to the
substantial clouds density, it added.

The statement went on to thank government bodies, headed by His Highness the Prime
Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, for their efforts in assisting rainwater cleanup
efforts and in facing these unusual circumstances
