(MENAFN) Police emphasized that a 53-year-old fashion designer and her 50-year-old domestic assistance were discovered killed Thursday inside her home in India's capital city New Delhi.
The double killing occurred at the designer's house at New Delhi's Vasant Kunj Enclave area. The designer has been known as Mala Lakhani.
"The two were stabbed with knives late last night," a police official said. "The woman, Maya Lakhani, was found dead in her bedroom and the body of the servant was found in the living room."
Police officials emphasized seven wound scars were scovered on Lakhani's body. According to police three people were detained in relation with the murder. "One of the accused Rahul Anwar was a tailor at the fashion designer's workshop. He committed the crime with two of his relatives in an attempt to loot," a senior police officer Ajay Chaudhary told media.
