According to a witness, the alleged attacker approached and woke the victim who was reportedly fast asleep. The pair began to argue heatedly and soon the noise of breaking glass was heard.

The Indonesian perpetrator reportedly slit the other man's throat and was then seen lingering beside the victim, who was lying unconscious in a pool of his own blood.

Store owners and passers-by together restrained the attacker and handed him over to the Iskandar Puteri police, who have classified the incident as an alleged murder case.
