Nigeria: death toll of cholera reaches 1,110


(MENAFN) The country's Center for Disease Control (NCDC) declared that Nigeria has registered 1,110 victims of cholera outbreaks across 29 of its 36 states.

The agency confirmed that the death toll this year is multiple times higher than the 84 listed during the corresponding period last year.

The report for week 43 revealed that 48,686 suspected cholera patients have been registered, with 829 affirmed from laboratories across 29 states.

a national emergency operations center (EOC) for cholera has been established at the center, as there has now been a decrease in the scores of fresh cases, according to (NCDC).
