(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stated that the United States did not success in achieving its purposes from the sanctions which imposed on Iran.
Rouhani was quoted as saying by IRAN daily, "The Americans will definitely be defeated on this path. The path they have chosen is wrong".
If they are truthful and worried about local security, this is not the path, he said, adding that the "cruel" U.S. sanctions will only affect the Iranian people.
By re-imposing sanctions on Iran and Iranians, the U.S. officials hurt their own character in the world, he pointed out.
