Jordan participates actively in Baghdad International Fair 2018

Amman, Nov. 14 (Petra)- Jordan's current participation in the 45th Session of Baghdad International Fair 2018, which was launched last Saturday, received wide attention from the public and private sectors in Jordan and Iraq.

According to a press statement released by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, 48 Jordanian companies took part in the exhibition that covered various sectors as the Kingdom's pavilion received a large number of visitors, and business people.

Minister of Industry, Tareq Hammouri, accompanied by the Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals Saleh Al-Jubouri and Trade Mohammed Hashim Al-Ani, toured the exhibition's pavilions and listened to the comments and demands of trade community and industrialists, who stressed the importance of speeding up the procedures of entering Jordanian products to the Iraqi market, revamping Trebil border crossing, and exempting Jordanian exports to Iraq from customs duties.

The ministers stressed the keenness of the two countries to develop economic cooperation in various fields and take practical steps as soon as possible to increase the volume of trade exchange and stimulate mutual investments.

Jordan and Iraq earlier agreed on a range of mechanisms to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of joint trade and stimulate the private sector to establish investment projects, and facilitate the movement of joint land transport to serve common interests.
