Lebanon, China relations addressed in forum

(MENAFN) The China-Arab Banking and Business Forum saw various points of views on the means for Lebanon and China to expand their bilateral relations.

China's Ambassador to Lebanon Wang Kejian stated: "China will continue to explore cooperation with Lebanon especially in infrastructure projects and sectors related to people's livelihood in light of the economic plan and political agenda of the new Lebanese government."

China, the envoy noted, has formed a special USD15 billion loan for the industrialization of the Middle East, a move that is expected to support Lebanon.

The statement was made during the "Role of Lebanon as a hub for China and its prospective projects" session, where Lebanese-Chinese ties were addressed.

Wang added "we could further optimize the legal framework of bilateral economic and commercial cooperation, discuss possibilities of agreements on double taxation avoidance and labor cooperation, upgrade the bilateral investment promotion and protection agreement."
