(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The Royal Yacht Zeinat al Bahar will leave for Port Sultan Qaboos from Cochin Port in India on Wednesday. The yacht was in India for the tenth anniversary of the Indian Ocean Navy Seminar (IONS).
The vessels will reach Muscat on November 29. The seminar was held to revive the old maritime and spice routes between Malabar and Arabian Gulf coasts.
The seminar also sought to enhance maritime and navigation cooperation among the states overlooking the Indian Ocean and other states that have a long maritime history.
The seminar was held under the auspices of the Indian defence minister in the presence of a number of senior officers from the member states.
IONS is an annual event that includes 32 coastal countries of the Indian Ocean Rim including Oman.
