Ukraine gives green light for Bosnia and Herzegovina to join WTO

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine and the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina completed bilateral negotiations on access to the goods and services markets of the country.

The holding of such negotiations is a prerequisite for new members to join the World Trade Organization (WTO), the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine reported.

"Today, Bosnia and Herzegovina is at the final stage of a 19-year process of joining the WTO. The agreements reached with Ukraine are an important prerequisite for the final completion of the multilateral negotiations of Bosnia and Herzegovina with all interested WTO member countries," the report reads.

The commitments of Bosnia and Herzegovina on access to the domestic markets of goods and services will come into force after this country acquires the WTO membership.

As of early November 2018, 164 countries of the world are members of the WTO, and 23 countries are negotiating to join the organization.
