Kuwait, Tunis seek closer coop.


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Nov 13 (KUNA) -- Visiting Kuwaiti Minister of Justice, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Fahad Al-Afasi and Tunisian Prime Minister Youssef Chahed met on Tuesday on cooperative relations between Kuwait and Tunisia.
Speaking to KUNA following the meeting, the Kuwaiti minister said he had conveyed to the Tunisian prime minister the greetings of His Highness Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The talks touched upon ways of promoting and reinforcing Kuwaiti-Tunisian relations in order to fulfill the expectations and ambitions of both peoples, especially regarding religious affairs, enlightenment, tolerance and moderation, he said.
He added that he had briefed the Tunisian premier on an executive program signed by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Tunisian Ministry of Religious Affairs as part of a previously hammered out cooperative agreement.
The Kuwaiti minister quoted the Tunisian premier as saying that he looks forward to strengthening relations between both Arab countries under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi.
The Kuwaiti minister arrived in Tunis earlier on Saturday on an official visit. (end) ksj.mt
