(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 13

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend:

Turkey has stopped its participation in the international conference on Libya, which is taking place in the Italian city of Palermo, Vice-President Fuat Oktay said, Turkish media reported Nov. 13.

He noted that Turkey is disappointed with the course of the conference on Libya and stops participating in it.

Oktay noted that a number of countries that participate in the conference intend to take advantage of the situation in Libya in their own interests. The crisis in Libya cannot be resolved if some countries continue to undermine the process for the sake of their own interests, he said.

The conference was organized by the initiative of Rome - the Italian authorities cannot cope with illegal migration, especially the immigrants from North Africa. Most immigrants arrive from the Libyan coast.
