(MENAFN) An international humanitarian group declared that the fatality number of a cholera outbreak in over three among six Nigeria northeastern states, has reached 175, starting of early November.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and local officials in Nigeria announced the deaths of 97 cases in late December.
The NRC confirmed the most recent death toll in the northern city of Maiduguri, capital of Borno State, adding that 10,000 people have been diagnosed with the disease in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe, all in the northeast region.
Maiduguri, also popular for the origin of terror group Boko Haram, shelters about 243,000 people, whom were forced to evacuate their homes after cholera outspread.
