(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 12 (KUNA) -- The 25th edition of Awqaf Forum will highlight the extended achievements of the General Secretariat of Awqaf for about a century, Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Fahad Al-Afasi said on Monday.
The (quarter of a century in the service of Waqf) forum will be patronized by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and organized by the General Secretariat of Awqaf, during November 19-20, Al-Afasi said in a statement.
It will be attended by a number of officials, civil institutions, scientists and academics from several Arab and Islamic countries, in the field of Waqf, charitable and humanitarian work in and outside Kuwait, he added.
The General Secretariat of Awqaf, as the official body responsible for the Awqaf file in Kuwait, organizes this forum based on its contemporary vision to activate the developmental role of the Islamic Waqf and its effective capabilities towards the development of society in all fields, Al-Afasi said.
Al-Afasi expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his generous patronage of this forum and other previous meetings.
He also praised the contributions of the General Secretariat of Awqaf officials and their continuous relief efforts in disasters, in cooperation with official state institutions including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kuwaiti Joint Committee for Relief and Zakat House. (end) amn.nfa.ss
