Morocco: tourist dies of rabies after cat bite

(MENAFN) Health officials declared that a British tourist has been pronounced dead after being infected with rabies amid his vacation in Morocco.

Public Health England officials confirmed that the Briton fell ill after being bitten by a cat.

PHE announced a reminder to tourists to stop contacting with animals when in rabies-outbreak countries.

Rabies is not common in wild or domestic animals in the UK, however, five Britons fell ill between 2000 and 2017 after "animal exposures abroad".
