(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that he held about 40 meetings with world leaders as part of the Paris Peace Forum, the press service of the head of state has reported.
"Yesterday there was a meeting and discussion on the sidelines of the forum, including with the president of the United States of America. Following this discussion, today a meeting was held between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and his American counterpart - U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo," Poroshenko said on Sunday, November 11.
The president said that the result of these meetings was the agreement to hold a meeting of the Ukraine-U.S. Strategic Partnership Commission at the level of foreign ministers of the two countries in Washington on November 16 this year. The head of state recalled that the commission was founded almost ten years ago.
"Today we have agreed to restore its work as a symbol of strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States of America," Poroshenko said.
The head of state also said that a diplomatic adviser of the Ukrainian president, Kostiantyn Yeliseyev, had met with U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton in Paris.
