DOHA: AFG College with the University of Aberdeen signed a memorandum of understanding with Bedaya.

The event was attended by Brian Buckley, Principal of AFG College, Dr. Karen Foster, Provost of AFG College and Reem Al-Sowaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center along with Donna Connelly, Aberdeen University Student Association Education Officer, Tracey Innes, Head of Careers at University of Aberdeen and other representatives from both sides.

Since AFG College with the University of Aberdeen launched last September with two undergraduate programmes in Business Management and Accountancy & Finance, the number of enrolled students has reached over 350 full timers across the four academic years.

Particular emphasis has been placed on extra-curricular activities, which has included the formation of an entrepreneurs group amongst the student body. A number of the current students have expressed a desire to either start their own business, or are already involved in some type of start-up.

The collaboration between AFG College and Badaya will enable the students to take full advantage of Badaya's specialist knowledge and expertise, as well as giving those budding entrepreneurs an insight into what's involved in running their own business.

AFG College Principal, Brian Buckley, said: 'The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding with Badaya marks a significant step towards providing Aberdeen University students the opportunity to develop real life business skills.

Reem Al-Sowaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center, said, 'Bedaya is always at the forefront to help our youth achieve their dream as future entrepreneurs. Today's agreement with Aberdeen University, is yet another example of our mission.
