Pakistan- 3 suspects involved in Maulana Samiul Haq's murder arrested


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Police have arrested three suspects involved in the assassination of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq.

According to police, the suspects have been arrested with the help of geo-fencing and mobile data of Maulana Samiul Haq. The arrested suspects have been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operations Amir Abdullah Niaz and Station House Officer Civil Lines Aziz are conducting the interrogation.

Maulana Samiul Haq was assassinated in a knife attack inside his house situated in a private housing society in Rawalpindi on 2 November. His assassination triggered protests by the JUI-F activists.

Earlier, police had collected evidences from the murder scene. Police were hoping to get to the killers with the help on fingerprints. No one was nominated in the FIR registered with the Rawalpindi Police.
