Tunisia extends emergency for month

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TUNIS, Nov 6 (KUNA) -- Tunisia announced on Tuesday extending the state of emergency, which has been in place since an attack on security forces in central Tunis in November 2015, for a further month.
The Tunisian Presidency said in a statement today that President Beji Caid Essebsi decided extending the emergency state in various parts of the country starting from November 7, after consulting the Prime Minister and Speaker of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People regarding national security issues.
Essebsi announced on March 12 extending the state of emergency for more seven months, as a suicide bomber blew up himself in a presidential guard bus in central Tunis on November 24, 2015, which left 12 security personnel dead and 17 others injured. (end)
