Turkish forces detain 21 FETO members

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Turkish forces detained 13 suspects over supposed relations with Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind the 2016 defeated coup in Turkey.

The suspects were detained for supposedly using ByLock, an encrypted smartphone app used by FETO members in Istanbul-based processes across 10 provinces.

The detentions came after the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Istanbul released arrest warrants for 26 suspects.

According to the Turkish government, FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and around 2,200 wounded.
