Romanian PM opens embassy


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Viorica Dancila, Romanian Prime Minister opened the Embassy of the Republic of Romania in Muscat on Monday.

The opening ceremony of the Romanian Embassy was also attended by H E Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed bin Nassir al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, officials from the Oman's foreign ministry and officials from the Romanian side.

Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al Busaidi, secretary general in the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs said that the opening of the embassy in Muscat is a result of the visit of the Romanian Prime Minister to the sultanate. He added that a bilateral agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of official passports between the two countries has also been signed.

He pointed out that the visit will be followed by mutual visits and activities related to various sectors of common interest, especially in the fields of cooperation, culture, trade, economy, tourism and education.

He added that the meetings will also be held between businesspersons in both countries. The meetings are aimed at exchanging ideas and developing knowledge on investment and industrial opportunities. Sayyid Badr further said that tourism too is open to businesspersons and the private sector. He affirmed interest in cooperation and that the upcoming period would witness significant activities within the framework of the relations between the two countries.
