LOS ANGELES - Oct. 29, 2018 - PRLog -- The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Women's Division is excited to announce Waco United Soccer Club as a new member starting with the 2019 Spring Season.

Based in Waco (Tex.), Waco United Soccer Club will begin UPSL Women's Division play in the new Central Conference.

United Premier Soccer League Women's Division Central Conference Manager John Rexroat said, "We're very pleased as the UPSL Women's Division is continuing to expand nationwide. Waco Soccer Club has made a name for itself in Central Texas, and they're ready to join the fastest-growing Pro Development structure in the United States. They're at the forefront on soccer in their community, and we're pleased to welcome them to the UPSL."

Sam Odajima is President of Waco United Soccer Club. A native of DeSoto (Tex.), and the former President of Heart of Texas Soccer Association, Odajima, 44, is a USSF licensed coach and NSCAA licensed goalkeeper coach.

Waco United Soccer Club President Sam Odajima said, "We have been interested in adding another level and through FC Waco, the UPSL Men's Team, we started a conversation that moved quickly. We're good friends with the leadership of FC Waco, and Waco is a small enough community that you want to make those types of connections. We're excited to get started and to a part of the UPSL Women's Division and be a leader in the new Central Division."

Fermin Lopez is in his first year as Director of Coaching at Waco United Soccer Club and will serve as Head Coach. A native of Waco, Lopez formerly was a soccer coach at Central Texas-based Hill College.

Waco United Soccer Club's youth academy dates to 2015, and features boys and girls youth players from the U9 to the U19 age groups.

Waco FC, which completed its first UPSL Southwest Division season, will work in collaboration with Waco United Soccer Club moving forward.

The club is finalizing its venue options, and will soon announce tryout dates and its upcoming game schedule.

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 400-plus teams targeted for 2019 Fall Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
