Iraq deploys soldiers in border with Syria


(MENAFN) Iraq was announced by a top army commander to have deployed a significant number of soldiers in its border with Syria.

The move is line with several actions taken to fight against potential IS attacks, as explained Commander of the al-Jazeera operations, Qassem al-Mohammed.

The commander affirmed that his unit's eighth brigade was deployed west of al-Ramadi, aiming to take control of the security condition.

The Iraqi commander was also reported to have emphasized that the troops are completely ready to thwart IS attacks in Syria.

Al-Mohammed further added: "those criminal gangs will not be able to approach the border because they will be killed."
