Samsung Electronics to hire 8,700 workers from subcontractors

(MENAFN) Samsung Electronics Service Co. said it will directly hire 8,700 workers from its subcontractors, amid South Korean companies' efforts to strengthen employees' job security.

The move came roughly seven months after the repair service provider of South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. vowed to provide the outsourced workers and other contract staff members with more stable positions.

Samsung Electronics Service said 7,800 repair experts will start their work as official Samsung employees on Jan. 1, 2019, while 900 workers of call centers will become regular workers on Nov. 5.

Samsung Electronics Service will become South Korea's biggest warranty service provider with 9,000 workers and 184 centers across the country, when the hiring process is completed.
