DOHA: The National Day Celebrations Organising Committee announced the motto of Qatar National Day 2018, "As long as it was proven by our deeds", which is one of the poetic verses said by the Founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, and the accompanying slogan "Qatar Will Remain Free", so that the theme of Qatar National Day 2018 combines one of the poetic verses of the Founder and the National Anthem.

The Founder, in one of his poem's verses says, 'As long as it was proven by our deeds, that points out the importance of good deeds. The good work that builds the nation varies from era to era according to the growth of its needs, and it is a necessary condition of its renaissance.

Under the theme of ‘Promise of Prosperity and Glory', National Day celebrations were marked last year. The theme of National Day celebrations 2017 was 'Promise of Prosperity and Glory' which had been taken from a quote of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The theme of the National Day celebration 2018, came from the vision of the National Day Organizing Committee which represents to promote loyalty, solidarity, unity and pride in the national identity of Qatar and emphasizes the values of the National Day celebrations, which include participation, inspiration, creativity and transparency.

It is also a confirmation of the National Day's achievements, not for temporary excitement rather aimed at displaying the national identity. It is also meant to educate people about the national symbols, the Founder Sheikh Jassim and the principles and values of the society.

Today, we are at the crossroads of a decisive stage in the history of this free country. The first lesson is the need that the sons of the country must work hard to achieve self-reliance in science, industry, agriculture and the development of all the elements of the renaissance of their country.

The love of the country must be translated into good work and success.

The great work does not stop at this mentioned point but extends to justice, sincerity, rejection of fanaticism, and fighting corruption; all of which are the elements of human dignity.
This is the deep meaning of the poem's verses mentioned above.

We should prepare political, military, scientific, economic and cultural power, which enables us to fight every tyrant wanting to assault the sovereignty of the country. The challenges — of course — are the secret of the renaissance of nations.

All societies and nations face difficult challenges at different periods of their history in which they test theirabilities to confront them and strive to create what meets their needs.
